CDA Messages (England)

NHS Digital has introduced Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) messages between health systems in England.

The great advantage of CDA messages is that as well as being received directly into Mail Manager ready for processing, they can be linked to both new and existing Read coded and free text entries within the patient record.

This allows messages to be sent to your Vision system via the MESH for the following categories:

Community and Out of Hours

  • Out of Hours Reports

Hospital Reports

  • Discharge Summaries
  • Ambulance Reports
  • Emergency Reports
  • Outpatient Reports
  • Transfer of Care

Other Clinical Documents

  • Unclassified Clinical Documents
Note - The MESH client software regularly checks for incoming messages, meaning CDA messages arrive in a timely manner throughout the day.
