Options - Status (England)

To launch a System Status dialog:

From the Vision front screen, select Options - Status. The menu item is only available if you are logged in with your Smartcard.

The purpose of this System Status screen is to help with the early detection of problems.

Messaging - The message transport uses components run on the GPC machine. If any are not running correctly, then messages are not transmitted. If the Status shows that there is a possible problem, select Test Now, one of two possible outcomes displays:

  • Test Succeeded, or

  • Test Failed

In addition, a status icon on the Task Bar indicates the current messaging status. Double clicking this icon displays the System Status screen. The icon has the following states:

  • Running (or Unknown)
  • Possible problem
  • No response - If the status changes to No response, then a balloon dialog is shown with the message: "There may be a problem with the messaging program. You are advised to check the GPC machine".

Session Time - SSO sessions have a maximum duration. When the end of the session is reached, Vision shuts down. You are shown a warning a few minutes before this occurs. Now, with the System Status screen, you can see what the Total Session Time is and how much time remains.
