Daily Transactions

Outgoing Registration Links transactions are created when:

  • You add a new patient, see Acceptance Transaction ACG for details.
  • You reject a Deduction transaction, automatically generated Acceptance Transactions, see Incoming Deduction for details.
  • You make an amendment to specific Registration details of a permanent patient see Amendment Transactions AMG/AMF for details. These include changes to the following:
    • GP Code*

    • GP Ref**

    • Surname

    • Forename(s)

    • Previous Surname

    • Birth Surname**

    • CHI Number**

    • NHS Number

    • Title*

    • Sex

    • Date of birth

    • Address

    • Postcode

    • Drugs Dispensed Marker

    • Rural Mileage (Blocked/Special/Walking in England/Wales; Road, Footpath and Water Miles in Scotland)

    • Residential Institution Code*

    • Institution Code **

To view your daily outgoing transactions:

  1. From Registration Links, select Transaction Management - Daily Transactions and the View Daily Transaction File displays:

    You can optionally select the type of transactions to display using Change Criteria, simply select the criteria you require from the available lists and select OK.

  2. To display further details about a transaction, either double click a transaction or highlight a transaction and select View:

    On Acceptance Transactions select More to display Acceptance - Further Details:

  3. Select Close to exit.

Once the end-of-day transmission takes place, the list clears and the transactions transfer to the Completed Transaction screen. You can also view them from the daily transmission batches, see Daily Transaction Backup for details and printed out, see Daily Transaction Summary for details.

Please Note the Following:

  • An NHS number or CHI number cannot usually be amended by a practice. This has to be done by the TP and sent in an incoming amendment transaction. However, if the electronic link is faulty, Security - Amend NHS No/Amend CHI No. can be used in Registration - refer to Security in Registration.
  • A change of address result in the TP replying with a Deduction Transaction if the patient has moved outside the practice area.
  • England and Wales - A change of GP within the practice generates an Amendment Transaction.
  • Scotland only
    • A change of GP within the practice generates an Acceptance Transaction.
    • Amendments to a patient's date of birth and sex, both part of the CHI number, result in the patient being re-registered and a new CHI number being generated.
