Creating a Task from a Template

To facilitate the quick creation of regular tasks, you can use Task Templates.

  1. From any screen within Tasks, right click or (on a touch screen) long touch Add.

  2. Your list of templates is displayed (your template list is determined by the staff groups you are a member of and set up by your system manager).

  1. Click on the template you require and the New Task screen is displayed. Depending on the template selected, different sections of the New Task screen are completed, the rest should be completed in the usual way:
  2. Complete as required:

  • From (Optional) - Click Edit and select the correct staff group if you are creating this task on behalf of a staff group. Please be aware, you can only select from groups you are a member of.

  • To - Select the recipient of this task, this can be one or more individual members of staff, or a staff group, start typing and a smart list is displayed to select from.

  • Subject - Enter the short description of the task that will appear in the My Tasks list of the recipient.

  • Description (Optional) - Enter a full description for the task.

  • Attach patient (Optional) - Click to select a patient:

    • The Apps side bar is displayed, type the patient name (either in full or part), click Search and a smart list of matching patients is displayed. Click on the patient required.

  • Category (Optional) - Select from the pre-defined list, this facilitates the ability of the recipient to filter tasks allocated to them.

  • Due date (Optional) - Select a date that this task should be completed by, either click on the Calendar and select a date or enter an offset time frame using the usual d=days, w=weeks, m=months or y=years short hand eg 2d = 2 days.

  • Urgent - Tick if this task should be marked as urgent. If Make this task urgent when it passes its due date is already selected, this option is not available.

  • Make this task urgent when it passes its due date - Tick if the priority of this task should increase when overdue. If Urgent is already selected, this option is not available.

  1. Click Send to save and send the task.
  2. A 'Task was added successfully' message is briefly displayed at the bottom of your screen.
