Cancel/Supersede

If a subsequent message has updated an original message, for example a Pathology result or Discharge Report, you can be marked the original as Cancel/Supersede. Simply right click on the message and select Message - Cancel/Supersede.

Cancel/Supersede is available providing the message is:

  • An incoming message.
  • Not a copy message.
  • Not an archived message.
  • Not already cancelled or a withdrawn message.
  • One you have rights to.

Selecting Cancel/Supersede:

  • Deletes all copies of the selected message.
  • Sets the filing status to Cancelled/Superseded.
  • Marks the message as Read.
  • Marks the message as Actioned.

Although the message is marked as complete, if the user amends the message so that it is no longer actioned, for example Mark as unread, then the message is no longer deemed complete.

The following options are available for messages that have been marked Cancel/Supersede:

  • Actions
  • Alerts
  • Allocate to Staff
  • Assign to Patient
  • Mark as Read or Mark as Unread
  • View Message for Patient
  • View Original
  • Patient details
  • Copy Message
  • Delete Copy
  • Print
  • Archive
  • Recover from Archive
