Medical Record flags

For Registration Links practices, there are five Medical Records entries.

Three involve a patient transferring out (being deducted) when a Health Authority send the practice a Deduction Transaction, which also sets the following flags. These request the patient's medical records be sent to them, and subsequently in some cases, the TP forwards the records to the patient's new GP (see Record Flags - When a patient is removed:

  • Records requested by TP (when patient removes) - set automatically by Deduction Transaction
  • Date Records Requested by TP - set automatically by Deduction Transaction
  • Date Records Sent to TP - entered manually by practice to record the date that the records have been sent off to the TP.

Two involve patients joining the practice, where the Health Authority send the patient's medical records from the previous GP to your practice (see Record Flags - When a new patient is registered):

  • Records Sent by TP (from old GP if a new patient to this practice) - set automatically by TP
  • Date records sent by TP - set automatically by TP

For Registration Links practices, there are two Medical Records Transactions, which are incoming transactions from the HA to the practice as part of the electronic link (see Registration Links Summary), These trigger the entries in the above fields.

  • Medical Records Sent Transaction (MRS) (Records Sent by HA/HB) - When the HA send the records of a new patient, the Medical Records Sent Transaction sets the Records sent by TP to a tick together with the Date records sent by TP.
  • Medical Records Flag Removal Transaction (MRF) (Records requested by HA/HB)

The progress of the patient's records through the system after the patient changes GP or is deducted from a list is monitored by means of these two Transactions.
