Scottish Prison Service

Introduction

The Vision clinical system has been adapted to be used by the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) to replace the General Practice Administration System for Scotland (GPASS) that is being withdrawn.

Vision is being set up as a single system hosted by NHS Grampian, with individual establishments accessing the system remotely. Each establishment is set up as a separate branch within Vision, with SPS Head Office set up as the main practice for administrative purposes. Head Office has been allocated 31391 as a practice code and is entered as Headquarters.

This user guide explains how to use the aspects of Vision that are individual to the Scottish Prison System; it is designed to be used in conjunction with the full user guides available from the The Knowledge Base and the on-screen help available throughout Vision.

The following aspects are covered in this document:

  • Logging into Vision - How to select your prison and login with your username and password. See Logging into Vision.
  • Registration - An overview of the registration process, how to view a patient registration, record data from a registration and changing a registration status from HMP Inmate to Permanent. See Registration.
  • Reports - See Reports.
