GP2GP in Vision 3

When a patient registers at a new practice, GP2GP enables the electronic transfer of their general practice patient record from their previous practice to the new one.

GP2GP electronic transfers are faster, more reliable and more secure than the paper-based method of transferring patient records. The paper-based transfer system can take anything up to a few months to complete. As a result, the new practice often does not have the benefit of the medical history contained in the patient’s original medical record when they attend for the first consultation.

GP2GP is not a complete replacement for the transfer of paper-based records, which continues for the foreseeable future until GP patient records are 100% electronic in nature.

Vision 3 can receive and file records coded in both Read code and SNOMED CT.
