GP Summary Bulk Uploads

The GP Summary Bulk Transmission provides the tools required to enable you to send consent preferences and Summary Care Record updates to the NHS Spine as a bulk operation.

From Vision 3 - SCR - GP Summary Bulk uploads , you can select one of the following options:

  • Initial UpLoad - This upload is a one-off process, which compiles an Initial Summary Care Record for each eligible non-dissenting patient registered at your practice. This should be run at a time agreed with your ICB, see Initial Upload for details.
  • Bulk Update - Run if a large number of patients require their GP summary refreshing, see Bulk Update for details.
  • Consent Migration - Uploads patient Summary Care Record consent status from Vision 3 to the NHS Spine and processes some local changes to patient's consent, see Consent Migration for details.
  • Bulk Deregistration - Sends an update summary and additional message when a group of patients leave the practice, for example, when a practice splits, see Bulk Deregistration for details.
  • Practice No Longer Contributing to SCR - This function enables you to send an update summary on additional text when the SCR function is disabled/switched off, for example, if a practice closes. This upload is inactive until the SCR function is switched off, the upload then activates and can be run, see Practice No Longer Contributing to SCR and Enabling/Disabling SCR for details:

Note - To run bulk uploads, you must be a System Administrator with the RBAC role B0062 - Schedule, manually start, manually stop and manually restart bulk uploads, including the initial upload.

To run the SCR bulk transmissions uploads, you must log into Vision 3 with your Smartcard. Your Smartcard should be left in the reader until the upload is complete, however, it should be noted that your Smartcard log in automatically expires after 10 hours and in line with Information Governance, you must not leave your Smartcard unattended in the reader.
