ABPI Calculator

The Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is the systolic pressure at the ankle, divided by the systolic pressure at the arm. It has been shown to be a specific and sensitive metric for the diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). Additionally, the ABI has been shown to predict mortality and adverse cardiovascular events independent of traditional CV risk factors.

Accessing the ABPI Calculator

  1. From Consultation Manager, select Vision+ from the floating toolbar and select Calculators - Other - ABPI:

  2. The ABPI Calculator displays:

  3. Set the following:
    • Select either Dorsalis pedis or Posterior tibial.
    • Record the relevant blood pressures.
  4. The Clinical terms, Scores and Event Date display at the base of the screen.
  5. Select OK to record the score and clinical term or OK and Attach to also record the questionnaire:

  6.  The appropriate clinical term saves to the patient's record:

  7. To view an attachment, from patient's record, right click on the attachment entry and select View Attachment. The attachment displays as a PDF:
