Encounters

Encounters are used to define and group all the data added during a consultation.

Please note the following:

    • You must start an Encounter in order to record data to a patient's record, otherwise, with the exception of medication management, the patient record is view only, see Adding an Encounter for details.
    • You need to select the type of encounter you are recording, for example, Surgery Consultation Note, Acute visit, Nursing Home visit, see Adding an Encounter for details.
    • Once you have finished recording data, an Encounter must be closed to synchronise with the patient record, see Why Should I Close Encounters?.
    • Encounters that are left open for 90 days, or closed encounters where you have not logged into Vision Anywhere while the device is connected to the internet for 90 days, are automatically deleted from Vision Anywhere.
    • Open encounters are deleted from your device if you forget your password.
    • Open encounters are stored locally to your device, they therefore cannot be accessed if you login in elsewhere.
Note - If you switch devices, ensure all Encounters are saved and closed first.
    • You can see a list of all previous encounters by selecting the Encounters menu in the Patient Summary screen, see Viewing Encounters for details.
