The Dyspnoea, Obstruction, Smoking Exacerbation (DOSE) Index

The Dyspnoea, Obstruction, Smoking, Exacerbation (DOSE) index is designed to assess disease severity and for the clinical management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

To complete the DOSE Index

1. From the Encounter screen select Templates & Calculators .
   The Templates & Calculators view displays.
2. From the list choose DOSE Index.
   The calculator displays and automatically displays the Calculated Dose Index.

   

3. Select Add to record a new entry.
4. Select List to view historical entries.
5. Optionally, select Graph to view trends.

   Select Close to exit the Graph.

6. To store the calculated DOSE Index score into the patient's record, select Save.
   Alternatively, to exit without saving select Cancel.
   Undo All removes any changes you have made.
7. If you choose Save, the Encounter screen updates with the DOSE Index score.
