What is SSO

SSO stands for single sign on. For this, you use a Smartcard inserted into a Smartcard reader at your workstation (see Working Online). If successful, this logs you into Vision according to the "role" on your Smartcard, and connects you to the national services. These allow you to select a patient from the spine and if necessary, update their demographic details (PDS), use the electronic prescription service (EPS or ETP) if activated, and book electronic appointments with a local provider (e-Referral Service).
