Title

You can either type in free text in the Title field – just place the cursor in the Title field and start to type; orclick on the selection arrow to display a picklist of Title options and make your selection: (No selection), Mr, Mrs, Miss, Master (optional), Ms, Mx, Sir, Dame, Lord, Lady, Dr, Professor, Reverend, Father, Brother, Sister, Bishop, Dean, Honourable, Rabbi, Earl, Major, Colonel.etc.

For women patients, it assumes the title of Ms. if adult; and Miss if a child.

For registration-linked practices, amendments to the Title generate an Amendment Transaction in England & Wales, but not in Scotland.

Note about Master title:

  • By default the title Master is not visible from the title list in the registration screen. There is a setting in Control Panel - Staff Configuration which allows you to enable this. See Control Panel on-screen help for further details.
  • English practices - Master is not recognised by the Personal Demographics Service (PDS). It is therefore recommended that it is not used when registering a patient.

Marital Status

A selection here is optional. If required, click on the selection arrow to display the Marital Status options and make your selection: (No selection), Single, Married, Widowed, Divorced, Separated, Unknown, Engaged, Co-Habiting, Re-married, Stable Relationship, Civil partnership.
