Permanent Registration

If a patient is detained for more than 6 months they can opt to register as a permanent registered patient. A GPR form needs to be completed. Only patients who are permanently registered have their registration data sent to Practitioner Services Division (PSD). No information is sent for patients with a status of HMP Inmate.

If a GPR form is completed; the patient is processed in Registration using Action – Re-registration and the status changed to Applied; entering all mandatory data to help PSD obtain the patient’s medical record currently held at their GP practice.

The registration record is frozen, which means that no amendments can be made to registration until the patient becomes Permanent, also NO PR2 Messages are processed for this patient until the record is unfrozen.

From the Vision 3 main menu select MessagingRegistration Links this is the module that deals with transaction messages between PSD and Vision 3.

The registered request is sent to PSD via eLinks and resides in Unacknowledged Acceptances.

The patient GP notes are requested by PSD from the patients currently registered GP practice, which then transfers out the patient at the GP practice.

When a CHI number is sent back to Vision 3, this unfreezes the registration record and changes the registration status to Permanent.

When the GP notes are received the Sent by TP flag should be removed from the patient’s registration record on the Other tab to denote acceptance and for audit purposes.
